Facility Manager

We are looking for a full-time Facility Manager who will be responsible for providing various maintenance functions to ensure the effective and efficient operation of our 4-acre automated greenhouse/ propagation facility, an array of field maintenance systems and equipment.

The Facility Manager will have the following primary responsibilities:

  • Oversees a variety of projects dealing with installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, as well as building repairs and maintenance.
  • Manages selection of contract services, including vendor negotiations.  Directs outside contractors.
  • Identifies and resolves areas of concern in order to improve the propagation growing area and facility. 
  • Supervises plumbing, heating, air conditioning and electrical systems of the facility.
  • Provides snow removal as weather dictates.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of trial and display gardens and property landscape.

Requirements

  • An Associate’s degree and/or technical certification, plus 4-6 years of experience or equivalent.
  • Experience operating various types of equipment, such as forklifts and front-end loader.
  • Experience with plumbing, heating, air conditioning and electrical systems required.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions and work additional hours as needed.
  • Must be extremely organized and able to multi-task.

Plant Health Technician

We are looking for a full-time Plant Health Technician to perform various operational functions to ensure the effective operation of the IPM Department.

The Plant Health Technician will have the following primary responsibilities:

  • Assists in the execution of chemical applications in the greenhouse and in the fields.
  • On a daily basis, performs irrigation tasks in all growing zones, including the display gardens, E-range and container pads.
  • Mixes and applies chemicals and fertilizers.
  • Applies beneficials, including nematode drenches, as part of the Company’s Integrated Pest Management Program. 
  • Collects, documents and sends test samples to diagnostic labs as needed.  Maintains records of samples shipped and test results.
  • Operates trucks, tractors, forklifts and other field equipment.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school degree.  Plant experience preferred, but not required.
  • Must be dependable and able to work evenings and weekend.  Must to able to operate sprayer and handle chemicals.
