Human Resources Generalist
West Grove, PA

We are looking for a full-time Human Resources Generalist who will be responsible for the smooth operation of the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including assisting in hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.


Staffing & Recruitment
Collaborate with department managers on a regular basis and proactively identify future hiring needs. Ability to attract candidates using various sources, including social media networks, local papers and employee referrals. Screens resumes and interviews applicants when needed. Administer recruiting, onboarding and terminations in HR payroll system Paylocity.    

Compensation & Benefits 
Work with payroll administration to maintain integrity of time management system, proper deductions for benefits plans and timely processing of payroll. Maintain and administer employee benefit plans; respond to employee inquiries on benefits, policies and procedures.  Update CFO and vendor with 401(k) new enrollees and terminations. Assist employees with unemployment registration, upon annual seasonal layoff.

Personnel Policies & Procedures
Ensure that company policies comply with local, state and federal regulations. Record, document and maintain employee personnel files. Inform employees and managers of company policies and procedures.  

Employee Relations
Administer the performance review process, including delivering performance reviews to supervisors to be completed on employee anniversary dates and ensuring reviews are completed. Work with supervisors on employment matters including terminations. Conduct exit interviews, and supply management with results.

Workplace Safety & Security
Prepare accident/injury reports and documents files and maintain OSHA 300 log. Maintain vendor certificates of insurance and MSDS safety sheets.

Other Responsibilities
-Responsible for maintaining and scheduling all required employee training.
-Further adoption and use of new(er) HR/payroll system Paylocity.

Educational/Travel Requirements
-Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Management or related disciplines, bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is preferred.
-Minimum 5 years of successful experience as an HR Administrator, Coordinator or Generalist.
-0-10% travel, primarily local travel to attend training programs and other local events.  Occasional trips to California office and Ball Horticultural headquarters office in West Chicago for employee meetings.

Sales Representative 
Mid-Atlantic (MD, DE, VA, WV)

We are seeking a Territory Manager for Mid-Atlantic states (MD, DE, VA, WV).  

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Responsible for all sales activities, from lead generation through close, in assigned territory.

-Develops annual business plan in conjunction with the DOS, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year, including selling to licensees.

-Meets or exceeds sales targets, while demonstrating a solid customer focus.

-Develops strong product knowledge in order to sell the company’s products, including roses, perennials, woodies, edibles and brokered lines. 

-Develops strong customer knowledge in order to sell consultatively and make recommendations to prospects and clients regarding the various solutions the company can offer to address their business issues.

-Acts as liaison/consultant/technical support for growers and licensees in support of the company’s IP.

-Creates and conducts effective proposal presentations and RFP responses that identify prospects business problems.

-Provides ideas and creative solutions to the company’s management group to increase sales.

-Maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales and follow-up activities. 

-Develops a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face-to-face cold calling on business owners, email and networking.

-Assists in the implementation of the company’s marketing plans.

-Represents the company at all assigned trade shows and customer open houses and manages all regional trade shows.

-Credits - Handles customer problems in a timely manner.  Also processes credits in a timely manner when a credit is warranted.

-Collections - When requested by the credit manager, will assist in collection of overdue monies for outstanding invoices.

-Production plans- When requested by product managers, assists with future production plans by having a complete knowledge of the territory in relation to customer inventories, direction of competition, and any other pertinent information needed.

-Computer skills sufficient to effectively utilize our industry leading sales portal.

-Assumes additional responsibilities as required.       


Qualification Requirements:

Travel Requirements:
50- 75% - National, regional, and local travel to trade shows, industry events, company-sponsored events, meetings customers, licensees, brokers and growers.


Facility Technician

West Grove, PA

We are seeking a full-time Facility Technician that will be responsible for providing various maintenance functions to ensure the effective operation of the propagation facility, as well as research and development and field areas.  

Essential Position Requirements
Primary responsibilities as Facility Technician include:

-Providing for security and safety needs on all projects, promotes safety culture in workplace.

-Performs repairs on plumbing, irrigation, heating, air conditioning, and electrical systems of the Greenhouse facility and field sites as directed by Facilities Manager.

-Ability to operate, diagnose, repair or outsource repair of various types of heavy equipment, such as front-end loaders, forklifts and tractors.

-Assists Field Grower with equipment set up and availability.

-Develops working knowledge of Argus environmental control system.

-Responds to off hour emergency calls.

-Participates in snow removal activities as directed by Facilities Manager.

-Assists all departments as needed to ensure the needs of the organization are met.

-Participates in weekend assignments at direction of Facilities Manager.

-Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets the requirements of our insurance company.

-Accepts additional responsibilities as needed.

Educational/Travel Requirements:
Associate Degree or technical certification is preferred, plus 4-6 years of equivalent experience and experience operating various types of equipment and machinery, such as forklifts, front-end loaders and boilers.

Travel 0-10% - Occasional regional and local, to look for equipment, machinery, tools and supplies, as well as attending company-sponsored events and trade shows.
