I bought two "SWEET SUNBLAZE" Roses today. They were marked down to $4.99 EACH! THEY WERE DRY AS DUST AND LIMP. MY FRIEND ASKED, "WHY ARE YOU BUYING dead ROSES?" I told her, "Hide and watch..." I put them in buckets of water while we visited and ate dinner. (They are still a bit sunburned from 105 degree weather , with the sun reflecting off a HOT stucco wall.) But they had perked up and were STANDING TALL , PROUD, AND READY TO BLOOM AGAIN in a few days! In a day or two, I will have many new blooms opening, from tiny buds to be perfectly formed , pink flowers! My friend was amazed at their "recovery - rising from the dead like they did." ( They were just hours away from the dumpster. I actually wanted "DRIFT ROSES", but they were gone already and the trash had been picked up. I just missed them, Darn!) I could tell by the weight of these pots - they NEEDED a very deep soaking, not just a sprinkling from the produce man they had been getting.. So now, I have two beautiful rose bushes, that remind me of my Mother's spectacular rose garden of my childhood . (I am terminally ill, I don't know if I will be here next year or not... But these are in front of my window to enjoy as long as I am here. I am very low income. I got them at a great price and could not pass them up ! I only wish I could have gotten the "DRIFT" ROSES, to cascade outside my sliding glass door. That would have been even more perfect!) Thank you for breeding miniature roses, that will grow on the small patio of the new apt. I just moved to. They are the PERFECT TOUCH of cheerful color to add a bright spot in my life! You have no idea how much enjoyment they will bring me, and how much they will raise my spirits as I watch them bloom all summer and in to late fall-early winter! Thank you, Cindy Briggs, Exeter, CA
